What is the Bullhorn Lip Lift?

The Bullhorn Lip Lift is an aesthetic surgical procedure that shortens the distance between the nose and upper lip, giving the lip more volume, visibility, and a naturally youthful appearance. It is a subtle surgical procedure that removes a small strip of skin under the nose in the shape of a “bullhorn”, thereby lifting the upper lip and making it visually larger. The procedure accentuates the lip contour and the red part of the lip – without the need for fillers.

The result is:

  • Greater visibility and fullness of the upper lip
  • Shortening of the space between the nose and lip (philtrum)

Preparation before the procedure

  • Discontinuation of blood thinners 7 days before the procedure
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking 2 days before the procedure
  • On the day of the procedure, do not apply make-up or creams around the nose and lips

  • Duration of the procedure: approx. 45 minutes
  • Local anaesthesia or analgosedation
  • Precise removal of a strip of skin just below the nose
  • Stitching with fine stitches – the scar is hidden in a groove under the nose

  • Rest and cooling on the first day
  • Gentle washing of the area and application of healing ointments

  • Suture removal usually on day 5-7
