INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

What are septoplasty and turbinoplasty?

Septoplasty is a surgical procedure in which a deviated nasal septum is adjusted to a central position to improve nasal patency. Turbinoplasty is an operation in which the thickened nasal mucosa (of the turbinate bone) is reduced, which also helps to improve nasal breathing. Both procedures are often performed simultaneously under general anaesthesia and take approximately 60–90 minutes.
