INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

What is a Facelift?

Facelift is a plastic surgical procedure that tightens and fills the contours of the face and neck, removes excess skin and restores a youthful, fresh look to the face – naturally, without the effect of a “pulled up face”. Facelift is a surgical method of facial rejuvenation. The goal is to remove excess skin, tighten muscle structures (SMAS), and restore the contours of the face and neck. There are several techniques depending on the degree of tissue sagging and the extent of rejuvenation.

The results:

  • Smoothed features and youthful appearance
  • Reinforced jaw and neck contour
  • Significant but natural rejuvenation
  • Elimination of a “tired” facial expression

Benefits of the treatment:

  • The result will last 10–15 years
  • Possibility to adapt the technique to age and skin type
  • Treatment tailored to specific areas of the face
  • Can be combined with other procedures – blepharoplasty, necklift, lipofilling

Suitable for mild tissue sagging.

  • Area of action: pulling up sagging skin in front of the ear and mid-face
  • Depth: lifting of the skin only
  • Location of scars: in front of the ears
  • Recommended type of anaesthesia: local or analgosedation
  • Recovery: compression headband for 7 days
  • Length of procedure: 1 hour

A quick procedure to resolve light contour loosening with a very short healing time

  • Area of action: mid-face, neck and smoothing of nasolabial folds
  • Location of scars: in front of and behind the ears
  • Depth: skin lifting including deep SMASS layer
  • Recommended type of anaesthesia: local or analgosedation
  • Recovery: compression headband for 7 days, 14 days bruising and swelling
  • Length of procedure: 1.5 hours

A procedure targeting the mid-face (cheeks, under-eye area) that restores volume and position to the cheeks and is often combined with blepharoplasty

  • Area of action: lifting of the area in front of the pinna, mid-face, contouring of the lower jaw
  • Depth: skin lifting, only scraping the deep SMASS layer
  • Location of scars: in front of the ears
  • Recommended type of anaesthesia: local or analgosedation
  • Recovery: compression headband for 7 days, 10 days swelling
  • Length of procedure: 1.5 hours

Turning of the cheeks upwards with minimal incision and reinforcing the SMASS layer for a natural result – very popular for short recovery.

  • Recovery: compression headband for 7 days, swelling for 10 days
  • Length of procedure: 1.5 hours

A more pronounced lift with a longer lasting effect, suitable for moderate to advanced tissue laxity. Plastic surgeons work with the deeper muscles (SMASS layer), not just the skin.

  • Area of action: mid-face, neck and smoothing of nasolabial folds
  • Location of scars: in front of and behind the ears
  • Depth: skin lifting, including deep SMASS layer
  • Recommended type of anaesthesia: general, local anaesthesia or analgosedation
  • Recovery: 1 day of hospitalisation, compression headband for 7 days, bruising and swelling for 14 days
  • Length of procedure: 1.5 hours

The most effective option for advanced signs of ageing. It is the most comprehensive technique in which the plastic surgeon works with the deep structures of the face – the result looks very natural and lasts longer than other types of facelift.

  • Area of action: comprehensive face lifting at the level of skin, fat and muscle layers for perfect shaping of the face and neck area
  • Depth: primarily in deep layers
  • Location of scars: behind the ears, in front of the ears
  • Recommended type of anaesthesia: general, local anaesthesia or analgosedation
  • Recovery: 1 day of hospitalisation, compression headband for a week, 10 days of bruising, swelling
  • Length of procedure: 2.5 hours
