Preoperative preparation

  • Photo documentation
  • It is possible to undergo an examination at our clinic
  • Results must be no older than 30 days before the procedure
  • Inform the doctor about the medicines and supplements you are taking

Preoperative preparation

  • 7 days before the procedure, discontinue blood thinners
  • 48 hours before the procedure, do not smoke
  • 12 hours before the operation, do not eat or drink alcohol
  • Do not use body creams or perfumes on the day of the procedure

Procedure

  • Lasting approximately 60–90 minutes
  • It is performed under general anaesthesia according to the extent
  • Augmentation: insertion of the implant through an incision under the chin or from inside the mouth
  • Reduction: adjustment of the bony part of the chin as required

  • Applying a pressure bandage or elastic bandage
  • Possibility of mild swelling and tension in the chin area

Follow-up

  • Takes place 7–10 days after the procedure
  • Suture removal in case of an external incision

Medium restrictions: 5 days of rest after the procedure

Recommendations

  • Soft diet in case of an internal incision (oral approach)
  • Avoid sports and physical exertion for at least 2 weeks
  • Sleep on your back with elevated head position

Contraindications

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people with:

  • Incomplete skeletal growth (in adolescents)
  • Disorders of healing or immunity
  • Inflammation in the oral cavity (in case of an internal incision)

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Swelling, infection or implant failure
  • Pulling sensation or stiffness in the chin area
  • Minor irregularities or asymmetries
