What is plasma therapy?

Plasma therapy is a modern method of skin revitalisation that uses your own blood plasma enriched with growth factors. It is a proven and gentle method that aids skin regeneration at the cellular level using the skin’s own plasma enriched with platelets. The treatment consists of injecting the skin’s own plasma back into the skin.
The principle of plasma therapy is to biostimulate the collagen cells found in the skin.
The plasma and platelets contain growth factors that promote skin cell regeneration and renewal, helping to revitalise the skin and improve its texture.

Preparation before treatment

  • Blood collection: 8–10 ml of blood is drawn from the vein (as in a conventional blood collection)
  • Separation of blood plasma from the rest of the blood: platelet-rich plasma is obtained in a special device
  • Application of anaesthetic cream to increase comfort

Treatment

  • Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
  • Procedure:The plasma can be injected into the treatment area using microneedles or a cannula

Number of repetitions

  • It is advisable to repeat the application of plasma approximately 3 times, usually one treatment per month. The resulting effect lasts approximately 6–12 months. It is therefore advisable to repeat applications every 6–12 months depending on the severity of the problem.

Aftercare

Minimal restrictions: You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Recommendations

48 hours after treatment:

  • Avoid physical exertion
  • Increased and regular hydration

7 days after treatment:

  • Do not expose treated areas to sunlight and extreme temperatures
  • Skip laser and peeling skin treatments
  • Do not visit the sauna, solarium and swimming pool

Prevention:

  • Regular use of moisturising creams is recommended.

Possible complications

The treatment is not suitable for people:

  • With a blood disorder or bleeding disorder
  • With active infection at the site of application
  • With some autoimmune diseases

Possible complications are rare and may include:

  • Slight redness, bruising and swelling after application
