Jan Kastner, M.D., Ph.D. specializes in ENT procedures and sleep medicine at Perfect Clinic.
His areas of expertise include rhinology (endoscopic surgery as well as functional and aesthetic nasal surgery), head and neck ultrasound diagnostics, and sleep medicine, including the treatment of snoring.
He graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague in 1999. During his studies, he gained practical experience abroad at the ENT Department of the University of Otago in New Zealand (1998), where he was involved, among other things, in treating nasal injuries sustained by local rugby players.
Until 2012, he worked at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Motol University Hospital in Prague, where he participated in the introduction of laser nasal surgery and image-guided surgery of the paranasal sinuses and skull base. He completed numerous international fellowships and internships, including two years in Mainz, Germany, and shorter stays in Switzerland and the United States. He further advanced his expertise through international training courses, including programs supported by the European Rhinologic Society and the Open Medical Institute.
He has long focused on nasal disorders and sleep medicine. In his practice, he combines experience from outpatient care with modern surgery, inspired among others by a clinical fellowship abroad with Professor Simmen in Zurich. Since 2010, he has operated a private ENT practice in Beroun and also performs surgery at Hořovice Hospital and Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital.
